ENDCLIFF LUXURY SUITE – LINKSFIELD RIDGE, GAUTENG

ENDCLIFF LUXURY SUITE is situated on top of historic Linksfield Ridge on a property that consists of three acres of indigenous koppies and stone walkways with panoramic 180° views of the north, south, east and west of Johannesburg.

The property was developed in the Second World War by Mr Ben Allen, a Johannesburg stockbroker. Herman Kallenbach, a leading architect at the time and close friend of both Ben Allen and Mahatma Ghandi, designed the main house and guest cottage (now the luxury suite). Ghandi visited Endcliff and in his diary, references are made to spending time on the Linksfield Ridge koppies and walking the stone paths that are still on the property to this day.

The luxury suite, which is totally private and separate to the main house, consists of a king-size bed complete with high-quality linen and pillows, a writing desk/laptop-friendly workspace, armchair with side table, satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee station, aircon, bar fridge, closet with wooden hangers, modern en-suite bathroom with shower (no bath), an outdoor patio set that seats four, secure off-street parking and a braai area.

The suite is light and airy with large glass sliding doors that let in lots of light and lead out onto a private patio. The suite enjoys an expansive view across a rolling lawn that then gives way to panoramic views of the north, east and south of Johannesburg. Walk around the property and you’ll also have views of Johannesburg’s city centre and surrounding suburbs.

When you stay at Endcliff, you’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of abundant birdlife, spot the occasional rabbit relaxing on the lawn, and walk some of the very paths that Ghandi did. You can also take advantage of the large swimming pool on the property, relax in the pool house, or spend time soaking up the surrounds on the viewing decks around the property.

The suite is serviced on request and offers excellent security and peace of mind. There are no cooking facilities, but guests can sample local fare at any one of the nearby restaurants and bistros.

The suite’s central location makes it especially convenient for business travellers needing to get to and from OR Tambo Airport and the key business hubs in and around Johannesburg. Preferential rates are offered to repeat travellers.
